Consolidation within the accountancy industry
There has been a consolidation trend within the accountancy industry over the past decades. The partners of the audit practice at this local accounting firm have always believed in the need for smaller independent accounting firms. Firms that have close relationships with their clients and, due to their size, are more flexible in meeting their clients’ needs.
The belief is that a personal approach and truly knowing your clients are of great value, not only for the quality of an audit but also in terms of client satisfaction.
In addition to the consolidation trend, many accounting firms have expanded their service offerings in the field of consultancy and advisory services under the same name since the 1990s.
One of these firms is BVL & Co, a new regional player from the Amsterdam area. In 2022, it was decided to merge with BVL & Co and change our name to The Audit Company. The BVL & Co brand represents professional services in the areas of accountancy, tax advisory, and comprehensive business consulting.
The Audit Company is a quality firm with a license from the supervisory authority, the AFM (Authority for Financial Markets), to perform statutory audits. To ensure that we, as a small firm, comply with all laws and regulations and stay up-to-date with the latest insights and developments, we are a member of SRA. SRA is a leading association for independent Dutch accounting firms.
